Dan Shake announces ‘Freak / Can’t Take It’
out 22nd April 2019 on Shake Records
London based DJ and producer Dan Shake has announced his new 12” ‘Freak / Can’t Take It” on his label Shake, set for release on April 22nd 2019.
Having landed his debut release in 2014 on Moodymann’s prestigious Mahogani Music label, he followed this with a string of self-released records on his label Shake, as well as outings on Amsterdam based Lumberjacks In Hell and Black Acre. Outside of this, Dan has launched a 12” edit series, Shake Tapes, gaining support from esteemed selectors such as Antal, Mafaldaand Gilles Peterson.
His latest 12” hones in on his distinctive high-energy sound, A-side ‘Freak’ lands as an ecstatic, funk-inflected club track, whilst ‘Can’t Take It’ swirls with jazzy, sampled hooks and euphoric disco-house energy.
Dan has been rising to international prominence in recent years, with numerous gigs played as far afield as Japan and Australia, closing the main stage at Dimensions Festival and playing b2b shows with Jeremy Underground, Marcellus Pittman, Alexander Nut & Jamie 3:26 to name a few. With more new music planned for 2019 on his label and beyond, Shake is set to reach new heights this year.
